Princeton Men’s Basketball to Play at Wooden Legacy Tournament in Orange County Over Thanksgiving Holidays

Princeton Men's BasketballThe Princeton Men’s Basketball Team (21-9 in 2014) will make its first Southern California appearance since 1969, when it lost to UCLA in the last second (69-68).  UCLA went on undefeated to win the NCAA National Championship that year.

Thanks to the suggestion made several months ago by one of the PCSC Board members to one of the Tiger assistant coaches, the Tigers will play in the Wooden Legacy Tournament, during the Thanksgiving holiday period.
At 11 AM on Thursday November 27, the Tigers face University of Texas at El Paso (23-11 in 2014), at Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Gym.  The second game, also at Cal State Fullerton, on Friday November 28 at 12:30 or 2:30 PM, will be against the winner of Xavier -University of San Diego (which the Tigers’ football team is playing in San Diego on September 20).  The final game, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, will be on Sunday November 30, time to be based on tournament success.  That game would be against either Long Beach State, Western Michigan, San Jose State, or University of Washington.

A reception is being planned at a facility in Fullerton for Friday November 28, time to be announced.  PCSC is coordinating plans with the Princeton Club of Orange County, the Princeton Athletic Office, and the Princeton Varsity Club, which will include a Princeton block of seats at both venues. Please save the dates.  More information will be provided in the future.
